Why "Manage My Office" is Important to You Last week we announced the new Manage My Office* functionality available at the Agent Resource Center. Manage My Office helps keep your personal information confidential and allows you to delegate support functions for your Long Term Care insurance sales. This will become an increasingly important tool as we begin to add additional functionality to the website. In fact, in the upcoming months you will be able to access your commission statements online through the Agent Resource Center . (Look for more information - coming soon!) If others are using your password, now is a great time for you to give them their own. So start Managing Your Office today. It's easy: Log in to the Agent Resource Center  Select the My Profile link Click on the Manage My Office tab Enter your administrative support team's information and limitations and the system will provide logins and passwords for you to distribute to your staff. Maintain your current level of office support while adding increased security to your personal information with  Manage My Office. No Oregon Producer Licenses Processed April 26-May 7 The Oregon Insurance Division will begin using a new internal operating system on May 7, 2012.  To implement this new system, they will not be able to process ANY license applications or renewal transactions from 10 a.m. PDT on Thursday, April 26 until Monday, May 7.  Licensing staff will not be able to access any license information during this period.  If your Oregon license expires on April 30, it is strongly recommended that the renewal information be submitted well in advance of April 26. Any renewal applications that are submitted prior to the expiration date but within the offline timeframe will be considered timely, but will not be processed until after May 7.    Normal processing is expected to resume on May 7.  Applications that are submitted during the down time will be processed normally once the conversion is completed. Notice to KS Agents about Advertisements The state of Kansas has recently issued a release detailing third-party advertising packages. Please remember that ALL Long Term Care insurance advertisements must be filed and approved for use through an insurer. Agents are responsible for the content of advertisements distributed directly and on their behalf and are subject to potential regulatory action for the failure of any advertisements that do not comply with Kansas law. Manage Your Office at the Agent Resource Center                                                -Coming Next Week! The Agent Resource Center is a great tool for you and your office and has been renovated with your needs in mind! Starting next week you will have the ability to designate administrative functions to your office staff with Manage My Office*. This allows you to choose what functions different staff members can see and use. Choose any or all of the following limitations for your staff: Order Supplies - allows administrators to order supplies for you and your office Get a Quote - allows staff to access the TransQuote® Illustration System to quickly view and print LTCi quotes for your clients Application Status - allows personnel to view the status of an application as it moves through the approval system The Manage My Office functionality will also help keep your personal information confidential and allow you to delegate roles throughout your office. iPad 2 Contest Ends Friday! If you haven't gotten in those last minute applications, hurry and send them in. Friday 3/16 is the last day your applications count towards your total submitted annualized premium. Every application helps increase your chance to win an iPad 2 in the Transamerica iPad 2 Sales Incentive Contest. You can review contest guidelines and rules on the Contest Flyer. Special Forms are Required in Delaware, Georgia and Illinois New Civil Union Notice/Domestic Partner forms may be required in DE, GA and IL beginning March 28, 2012.  Please review the following to determine if one of these forms must be completed by or distributed to your client. Any resident of Delaware, Georgia or Illinois applying for coverage in his/her home state (including single, married or civil union applicants). DE:  If a resident of Delaware is applying for a Delaware policy, then the agent must deliver the Civil Union Notice, form TLC CU-NOT DE 0212.  This form must be delivered to all applicants, even if the applicant is not a civil union partner. IL :  If a resident of Illinois is applying for an Illinois policy, the agent must deliver the Civil Union Notice, form TLC CU-NOT IL 0212, even if the applicant is not a civil union partner. GA: If a domestic partner is a resident of Georgia and is applying for a Georgia policy, then they must complete the Declaration of Domestic Partnership, form TLC 1-DDP (GA) 0102. Domestic Partner/Civil Union Partner rules will only apply if the applicant is a resident in one of these 3 states in which they are applying for coverage. If a person is applying for coverage in these 3 states and is a resident of another state, or if a resident in these 3 states is applying for coverage in a different state, the Domestic Partner/Civil Union Partner rules do not apply to that individual. Availability of forms and cutoff date for old forms These new forms will be available in the application packages at the Agent Resource Center on March 21, 2012.  The cutoff for use of the old application packages is April 18, 2012. New 2012 Massachusetts Bulletin for People with Medicare Beginning April 1, 2012 agents/producers must provide the 2012 version of the Massachusetts Bulletin for People with Medicare along with the Medicare Guide to Massachusetts resident applicants over 65 years of age. A 2012 version of the Massachusetts Bulletin for People with Medicare form will be available for order at the Agent Resource Center on Monday, March 19, 2012. The previous 2011 version cannot be used after March 31, 2012. Important Reminder for Agents Writing Business in ID, LA and VA Due to state mandate, no Domestic Partner discount is allowed in ID, LA and VA.  However, Domestic Partners may apply for and be issued the Shared Care Benefit Rider and the Joint Waiver of Premium Rider.   These riders will be issued at single rates and only if both partners are issued identical coverage including these riders. As a reminder, the Shared Care Benefit Rider is not available with an unlimited Policy Maximum Amount, with the Return of Premium Rider, or for applicants who are rated Class 3 or 4. Completing the application:   If the Shared Care Benefit Rider or the Joint Waiver of Premium Rider is applied for, the COUPLE box under Applicant Status should be checked and the Partner's name indicated.  Also, please circle PARTNER on this line to indicate PARTNERS are applying for coverage. Rate quotes:  Quotes for PARTNERS is easy to do. Simply enter the information for the Partner couple and select "Partner Applying" under status. It's simple, easy to use, and only a click away.   AZ House Passes Bill to Make Long-Term Care More Affordable The Arizona State House unanimously passed a bill sponsored by Assistant Minority Leader Steve Farley, D-Tucson (District 28) that may make long-term health care more affordable for middle-class families. The bill will allow taxpayers to fund a tax-deductible savings account to pay for non-hospital expenses, such as nursing home care, home health care, and assisted or alternative family living. It also would allow taxpayers to take deductions for long-term health care insurance premiums. TransQuote� Solver Introducing a new way to help you easily quote Transamerica LTCi when the client has a specific premium in mind. TransQuote� Solver is now available in the TransQuote� Illustration System for all TransCare� II states. Have clients ever asked what type of policy they can purchase for a certain amount of money? Maybe it's what they can afford monthly or annually or they have a large amount of money for a single pay policy.  Now you have TransQuote� Solver to help. TransQuote� Solver is an additional calculation tool to help you solve for either the Maximum Daily Benefit or the Policy Maximum amount. And it's easy to use... Simply build the policy the same way you would normally (select Payment Period, Elimination Period, all optional benefits including inflation protection, etc.) Then on the right side of the screen, place the information you want into TransQuote� Solver. Select "Calculate" and if you agree with the calculation, you can select "Apply To Quote" and it will automatically update your illustration with the new information. And if you have a client with a 1035 Exchange*, use Annual mode and Single Pay payment period for the most effective results. Your clients will be able to quickly see the benefits they can purchase. It's that easy!
